I was born in McAllen, TX and raised in Mission, TX. I graduated from the University of Texas - Pan American (UT Pan Am) in Edinburg, TX with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. After graduating from UT Pan Am in May 1999, I moved to Austin, TX to work for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) in August 1999. I'm working as an Environmental Permit Specialist III at TCEQ.
While at UT Pan Am I was a member and an Officer of the student chapter of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE). I became a member of the Austin Professional chapter of SHPE in September 2000. I first became involved with MAES during the year that the Austin Professional Chapter was hosting the MAES Symposium ‘04. I have been a member of this organization ever since. I am currently the Secretary of Finance for MAES.
